Train Tickets

There are 2 options when buying train tickets in China: online or at the train station ticket booth.

  1. When purchasing tickets online, no physical copy is needed. New regulations and technology allow foreign travelers to simply scan their passports at the turnstiles/gate. To avoid any scanning issues, choose the lane closest to the attendant when entering the train platform.
  2. Buying tickets at the station is also possible, however, please note that trains can fill up quickly so there is no guarantee you will get a seat with a last-minute purchase.
