Shaolin Journey

A 34th generation Shaolin Warrior Monk, Master Tang started to learn martial art at a young age. He graduated from the School of Martial Arts within Tianjin University of Sport. Master Tang studied under the famed Shaolin Grandmaster Shi De Gen, and was also trained many years by the renown martial artists Li Decheng and Zhang Shijie. He was formally acknowledged by Shaolin Grandmaster Shi Yong Jie (Zhang Shijie) to be his disciple. As the first and last disciple of Grandmaster Shi Yong Jie, he excelled in Shaolin fist and weapons. With rich teaching experience and self-encouragement, he’s never stopped perfecting himself. Master Tang is determined to carry forward the great spirit of martial arts, enable more martial arts enthusiasts benefit from this spirit and become a better self.

Master Tang at Temple

With innate talents and years of dedicated training, Master Tang has garnered numerous honorable titles and achievements throughout his career. He holds prestigious distinctions such as First Class National Referee, First Class National Sportsman, and First Class National Martial Artist. His prowess in Wushu has been highlighted through various competitions, including securing the 1st place in Shaolin Fist at the 2nd International Wushu Festival in 2006 and the Traditional Wushu Tournament in 2007. In 2009, he achieved 2nd place in Sword form at the National Youth Championship in Chongqing, followed by another 1st place win in Shaolin Fist at the Tianjin University of Sport Wushu Championships in 2010. Additionally, he showcased his skills at the National University Games in Tianjin in 2012, earning 2nd place in Broadsword (Daoshu) and 3rd place in Staff (Gunshu). Continuing his streak of success, he clinched the 1st place in Shaolin Fist at the 2013 Traditional Wushu Competition.
